Check out sneak peak pics from new Wu-Tang affiliated dispensary in New Jersey

We don’t write much about dispensaries beyond the Bay State borders, but anything that’s Wu-Tang Clan related is an obvious exception. Here in Massachusetts, we have brands from Method Man, Inspectah Deck, and Cappadonna on shelves. But down in the Garden State, they now have a whole cannabis shrine to Raekwon. From a Hashstoria media release …

“The highly anticipated cannabis dispensary co-founded by Raekwon the Chef of Wu-Tang Clan fame, media personality and advocate Charlamagne Tha God, civil rights attorney Bakari Sellers and entrepreneur Jedd Canty, is thrilled to officially announce its opening in downtown Newark.”

The spot is on Broad Street in the city’s Four Corners district, and will initially serve “as an adult-use cannabis retail space.” Next year, there are “plans to evolve into a premier consumption lounge next year, further enriching Newark’s vibrant cultural landscape.” Hashstoria also operates three retail locations in Oregon.

The release continued: “Hashstoria’s vision for Newark extends beyond cannabis. The brand is committed to creating a wellness center that weaves cannabis into a broader mission of community health, education, and empowerment. … Drawing inspiration from Newark’s rich hip-hop heritage and cultural icons, the dispensary aims to be more than a retail space—it’s about building community and honoring Newark’s legacy.”

“Cannabis is just one part of our vision for Newark,” Raekwon said. “We’re not just normalizing cannabis use; we’re using it as a catalyst to uplift our people and culture, much like hip-hop has done for decades.”

Bakari Sellers, a civil rights attorney and partner at Hashstoria, added, “We are committed to working with the great city of Newark to safely and legally expand the cannabis industry here. … We appreciate the collaboration with the Mayor’s office and the City Council, and we look forward to making a meaningful impact in the community by creating opportunities and fostering local talent.”

“We’re proud to be part of Newark’s growing renaissance,” Raekwon added. “We’re bridging the gap between the city’s rich history and its bright future, helping to write the next chapter.”
