With a Permanent Marker that underlines the importance of attention to detail in exceptional small batch grows
It is almost inconceivable in such a saturated market, in some sense it’s becoming strangely hard to find great weed. There’s plenty of it out there in Mass adult-use dispensaries, but you increasingly need to know what to look for, and where to find it.
With many stores resigning to not carry any small or independents at all, U4EA Farms is a craft brand to keep a nose out for. Not because it’s a small company, but because the team there leverages its size to yield the kind of product that we rarely see from larger grows—like their cut of Cherry Whip that emanates a citrus-lemon stench like a French bakery.
You don’t have to take our word for it: though we don’t like to refer to Reddit, it’s worth noting that members of the /bostontrees mob there cites U4EA beside top-shelf producers like Tower Three. Meanwhile, their collaborative dabs with heavy hitters like Bountiful Farms have netted NECANN Cups.
Asked about their practices, the team at U4EA points first to its core crew and concept, “friends, family, and flower,” then to some specific practices and “engineer-built” grow room. Notably, they hunt for standout phenotypes relentlessly and land on stellar variants of faves like Whoopie Pie, hand-trim every bud, and only have 10 cultivars in rotation at any given time, allowing for significant attention to detail.
But what we want to talk about specifically right now is this operation’s Permanent Marker. It’s a deadly strain that we hope remains popular and cuts this loud speak to its staying power. With its fluffy cotton texture, angular architecture, and bright mess of orange whiskers and crystals, this one is a pleasure to ogle and fondle before burning.
While this Permanent Marker doesn’t stink outright in nug form, the Sherbet, gas and other known aromas which give this strain so much flair do then explode inside the grinder and continue in your bowl. But while the pungency is a spectacular feature, it’s second to the effects. We especially appreciated the big skull high which didn’t leave us lethargic or cloud-headed. It’s enough to put this Permanent Marker on our permanent pick list, and to keep some in our stash for watching complicated shows in a semi-couchlock position.
