“This is our moment to celebrate the accomplishments of the year … and the growth of the industry.”
Following a fall season that’s packed with cannabis events, it looks like Massachusetts will have relatively fewer parties as the cold sets in. There will, however, be exceptions, and the crew from Boston Cannabis Week just set one in motion.
Last week, BCW announced that it will hold a blowout gala at the Crystal Ballroom in Somerville on Wednesday, Dec. 13. They launched the concept in 2022 as a “holiday celebration of the New England cannabis industry,” and will return even bigger this year with an event they are calling Winter Wonderland. Formal attire is encouraged, and “programming includes music, entertainment, live art, giveaways, and appearances,” plus a “red carpet, ice sculpture, and holiday activations throughout the ballroom.”
“Hosting this event as a gala allows for creativity in fashion, art and entertainment,” BCW Co-Founder and Managing Partner Lisa Finelli Fallon said. “This is our moment to celebrate the accomplishments of the year, our partners, and the growth of the industry.”
The winter party is the latest BCW festivity outside its annual September lineup. Their most recent weeklong featured more events than in any previous year, but organizers forwent a blowout concert finale like they had done in the past with artists including Common and Bia. Their team said there will be an announcement in the new year about a similar large BCW music event that will take place before the next Boston Cannabis Week in September 2024.
