If New Hampshire Lawmakers Don’t Support Cannabis, Vote Their Asses Out

Including a voter guide with where your Granite State politicians stand

We like the approach that the Marijuana Policy Project is taking with this one. Essentially, cannabis is always on the ballot, since the boneheads who make all of the decisions serve at our pleasure. The following electoral reminder is from MPP …

New Hampshire missed an opportunity to legalize adult-use cannabis in 2026, with several bills failing. Before the legislature convenes in 2027, voters have an opportunity to elect new lawmakers.

All of the state Senate, all 400 House seats, and the governor are on the ballot. You can check your voter registration and your sample ballot here. Depending on your local rules, you can register to vote 6-13 days before the election. You can register to vote and find voting centers on the Secretary of State’s webpage. Election Day is November 3, 2026. Polls must open by 11am and must close at 7pm EST.

MPP has created a voter guide that explains where candidates stand on cannabis legalization (as well as how they’d want to legalize) and related issues of justice and equity. Our guide includes responses to our candidate questionnaire, the Citizens Count Issues Survey, information on how incumbents voted on key cannabis bills, and other publicly available information on candidates’ stances.

Check out our voter guide and make a plan to vote!

If candidates on your ballot have not yet taken a position on cannabis legalization, reach out to them and ask their opinion. And if you determine that a candidate is worthy of your support, be sure to thank the candidate for supporting cannabis legalization — you might also offer to volunteer, put a sign in your yard, or donate to their campaign.
