Bountiful Farms Drops Double-Barrel Sci-Fi Hash-Rosin Jetpack

NASA-grade live hash-rosin clickah is a bit bulky, but delivers thrice the flavor and requires an interplanetary passport

Ghostbusters. The Rocketeer. Batman. Those are just some of the heroes known for their stylish backpacks who come to mind when palming the new double-barrel vapes from Bountiful Farms.

After spending a few days with one of these disposables, one of our interns (don’t worry, she’s 58 years old) suggested that we strap a unit to the back of an action figure and use that for a pic with this review, but we don’t like giving prohibitionists rage bait to claim cannabis brands target kids.

Before we dive into the aromatic ooze inside these tubes, we really have to recognize the stellar hardware and engineering. At a little more than three inches long, one-and-a-half inches wide, and half-an-inch thick, this choose-your-own-adventure live hash rosin joy stick from Bountiful Farms is more cumbersome than most one-gram disposables. But it’s worth the extra bulge.

There’s quite an oven powering this element (350 mAh, for those keeping tabs), plus the design allows you to actually see how much rosin is left. Just pull and puff, no buttons needed to inhale—only if you wish to blend or switch between the flavors, and there’s one for power on the bottom. It’s an efficient system that helps cook every last drop, but before we scrape the barrels let’s start with the full load.

The first tag team we tried had the Hoff, a light-octane cross of Maui Wowie and Jbad, with Guava Now N Later. The latter is among the naturally sweetest strains in the Mass market, a mango plumb bomb from the party planet Candydish, and it translates seamlessly in vape form.

The other courtship we consumed with glee was between Pie Eyed F2, a sweet but refined face slap, and Candy Fumez, the birthday cake to its companion’s apple pie. It’s a similar arrangement to the Hoff and Guava duo, with skunkier hybrids balancing out off-the-wall sugar.

With this kind of excellence, it’s no surprise that Bountiful cleaned up at the most recent NECANN Cup in Boston. Among the five big wins: 1st Place Non-Solvent Concentrate for their Lemon N Limez, which also took Best Overall Non-Solvent Concentrate and Best In Show.

If we have any problem with these jet packs at all, it’s that some of these strains—and especially in extract form, as they are delivered in these NASA-approved vapes—are so heavy that they overpower their complementary flavor.

You might recognize the nuances if you approach this Bountiful device delicately, stealing one hit at a time. But if you savagely suckle the teat like a broke rapper slurping freebie champagne from a fountain, like we did, then your senses will begin to blur along with all your plans for the rest of the day.

Bonus: In communicating with Bountiful for this review, we learned that they are also processing for Breathe Free, another one of our favorite cultivators. Christina McCue, the owner of Breathe Free, told us there is evidence of a continued shift in consumer demand toward solventless products, particularly rosin, and Bountiful is “at the forefront as a leader in Mass.”

“We wanted a processing partner that would truly honor the integrity of our flower,” McCue said. “Working with Bountiful Farms was an easy choice to make. Their expertise ensures that every nuance of our flower’s terpene profile is perfectly preserved and enhanced in rosin form.”
