Navigating NECANN: More Than Just Weed At Nearby Dispensaries

What you can expect to find this week at pot shops within walking distance of the Hynes Convention Center

So, you’re coming into Boston from another state and need to stock up. Or maybe you brought a stash for NECANN, and it’s not big enough. Bottom line: you need some weed. Or some delicious edibles. Or dabs. Or all of the above.

Lucky for you, while you won’t find any trees for sale inside of the convention center, Back Bay and the surrounding areas are not cannabis deserts. In fact, if you have to go shopping, you can start right across the way from the main Hynes entrance at Ayr, located at 827 Boylston St.

Ayr is also giving away two tickets to the Thursday night (March 21) pre-party at Diaspora in Cambridge hosted by Sensi and others.

One more block away and in the opposite direction toward Mass Ave, at 331 Newbury St., is Rooted In, which will be hosting brand partners onsite throughout the week. On Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23 they’ll have ambassadors from Wana, Fansworth, Ahh Chocolates, and Rove on the sales floor, plus new product launches from Melt, Nova, and Kapnos. Here’s more about the latter from their team:

Following the successful completion of their first harvest, Kapnos is launching and introducing a limited release of their flower, available exclusively at two Boston retailers. The first of these releases will be available this week at Rooted In on Newbury Street and New Día Cannabis Co. in Fenway during NECANN. Both dispensaries were chosen to be part of this release for a number of reasons and align with the Kapnos Ethos.

And that’s not all that’s happening at New Día. Before NECANN even starts, the dispensary is hosting several events on Thursday, including a Jews in Weed Boston Shindig from 6pm to 10pm, and a visit from the WeedMaps R.A.D. Tour bus that’s full of free merch and swag.

This Thursday will also be the first time that they will stay open until 12am; and moving forward, to accommodate the college crowd as well as people getting out of shows around the area, their hours will extend to midnight every subsequent day for the foreseeable future.

But wait, there’s more! On Sunday, March 24, after the convention, New Día will keep the party going with one of its indoor markets and a High Beautiful Wellness Sesh from 10am to 11:45am. If you’re heading out of town, be sure to drop by Lansdowne first for a wide range of vendors as well as their robust menu.
