Pot Shots: Hexpo Halloween And Horror In Seekonk

An afternoon of buds, Barbies, dabs, swag, and zombies

Ahead of this year’s Hexpo, party organizers Bailey and Bobby Nuggz of High End Events Co. told us their bash is different from most in that “everyone is dressed up in costume and can be a different version of themselves for the night.” And they explained how with “over 100 vendors including some of the most popular dispensaries, producers, and cultivators in the state blended in with local artists, makers, and collectors,” “Hexpo is the only event in New England where you can find this type of originality and fandom.”

Despite a break in last week’s surprise warm weather filling October skies with rain and haze on Sunday, streams of cosplayers and cannabis consumers pulled up to the Teamworks turf facility from noon through night to put their own haze in the air. Some paid to hang with celeb guests Rachel True (Half Baked, The Craft) and Mark Dodson (Gremlins, Star Wars), with a few fans even joining the former in the smoking section and dab lounge out back.

“We’ve always done one-day events because it’s easier to control the variables, but it’s certainly in Hexpo’s cards to turn into a two-day show in the near future,” Bobby and Bailey Nuggz said. “We’re already planning on it. I also think two-day shows are important because it gives the chance for exhibitors to gain more sales, as well as second chances to meet celebrities and have a good time.”
