Headliners include Collie Buddz and GZA of Wu-Tang Clan performing Liquid Swords live
It came as sort of an unprecedented (but welcome) announcement in April that the Terptown Throwdown, an unapologetically pro-cannabis 420-themed event, will happen on Boston City Hall Plaza on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024.
Last year’s party, which took place all the way Spencer west of Worcester, featured musical performers including the Movement, Pepper, the Elovaters, Mike Love, Tropidelic, Surfer Girl, Arise Roots, Jarv, Green Lion Crew, and Buddahfly.
For Terptown’s Boston debut, they’re bringing reggae artist Collie Buddz, a longtime friend of the leaf, as well as meditative Wu-Tang icon GZA, who will perform his classic album Liquid Swords in its entirety.
Next up is Mihali Savoulidis, the lead singer and guitar player for Twiddle, who will bring his solo reggae vibe, as well as the San Diego-based world music outfit Boostive.
From Mass, Chase Stebbins and The Only Known will kick off the show, and the Caribbean-inspired Green Lion Crew DJ duo will be on the decks throughout the day.
