Flower and gummy line from Coyote Cannabis are latest additions to Bay State Wu-Tang weedscape
I’m the kind of rap nerd who likes to think that I would have known that Inspectah Deck had a weed line before I saw the Wu-Tang Clan icon’s products on shelves. But this one caught me by surprise as I entered the brand new Firebrand Cannabis near South Station in Boston last week.
The store has some serious selection, including many of my favorite go-to brands, like Trade Roots and Impressed. And while I’m not usually a sucker for celeb labels, I left room in my budget for some treats from Deck. He’s never failed me before, so why would he now?
While the legendary MC also has a line of flower out, I went for a 100 mg tin of Deck’s gummies. Branded as Coyote Cannabis Co. but manufactured by Mass Alternative Care, they’re decidedly upper-shelf quality, a bite above your average chewable. Produced with powdered RSO instead of distillate, they are the kind of edibles you truly savor. Yes, like a solid Wu-Tang album.
Far from generic gooey gummies that you stuff down quickly to avoid the bitterness, Deck’s drops are soft and easy to chew. At the right temp, you can spread them across toast like preserves, a trait of most my preferred infused candies. Both the strawberry and tripleberry I tried taste like they’re fresh from the farm; there’s no artificial sliminess in these, just dark intense fruit flavor.
With Cappadonna’s Cappuccino and some other strains around for a few years from Resinate at this point, and Method Man’s Tical collaborating with some of the best brands in the Bay State for its flower line curated and sold by LowKey, Wu-Tang has an unrivaled pop-culture presence in Mass cannabis—all fire, in many flavors, on different labels. As goes their imprimatur.
Deck’s brand may have arrived under the radar, but as any fan of the Clan knows, he’s not a Wu member to sleep on.
