New Question 8 resource by Jason Reposa of Good Feels tracks if Beacon Hill politicians “support or oppose repealing adult-use cannabis in Massachusetts”
In case anybody missed the massive “No On Question 8” flag flying over Boston from the headquarters of Talking Joints Memo atop the Hancock Tower, we one-hundred percent oppose the effort by a carful of trolls with millions of dollars to kill legal pot in the commonwealth.
We are hardly alone. People from every corner of the Mass cannabis industry are speaking up, with one of the most visible, across various platforms and in his community, being Jason Reposa, the founder and CEO of the Medway-based Good Feels. Also the host of the High Functioning podcast and a maker of much social media, he’s dedicated a lot of his streaming these past few months to opposing the repeal.
Reposa’s latest move isn’t merely another video, but rather a tool that you can use to track your legislator’s stance on Question 8. He explained to Talking Joints Memo that the impetus behind the tracker, which was produced independent of the official campaign opposing Question 8, was a yearning for basic transparency—even though state senators and representatives only technically have the same single vote per person as the rest of us on a ballot initiative.
Here’s how he went about it: “I asked all 198 sitting legislators and the certified 2026 state-primary candidates I could reach one question: do you support or oppose repealing adult-use cannabis in Massachusetts?” And then he visualized the data on an accessible site.
“I feel like politicians can easily be on one side or the other [privately], and you don’t really know,” Reposa said in an interview. “This is one of the things I think we can all be galvanized to say we oppose. So if your representative represents you, you should be able to see it.”
According to Reposa, as of Aug. 1, the site “covers all 198 sitting legislators and 109 legislative candidates.” “Of the 84 people on record, 79 oppose repeal, 5 are undecided, and nobody supports it. Another 223 have not responded or do not have a sourced public position.”
“If there’s no response, that doesn’t mean you support it, but it says a lot,” he said. “We got a higher response from people running against an incumbent. They are engaged, and a couple of them are actively campaigning, they’re actually 10% [opposed to Question 8].”
While he makes it clear that “it is a position tracker, not a voter poll,” the site does feature a user survey and a wall where people can leave comments. There is also a handy map for locating your reps, as well as a data export feature for pollsters and researchers.
“I would like to see them all oppose this,” Reposa said. “With all the tax revenue, how could you not oppose it?”
Calling out Smart Approaches to Marijuana, the out-of-state dark money group behind Yes on 8, he added: “We have to send a message to SAM that they spent all this money and got nothing.”
