In this free virtual event, the Cannabis Center of Excellence will address policy recommendations with guest Andrew DeAngelo
The first two installments of the Cannabis as a Harm Reduction webinar series have drawn big crowds and even caught the attention of local stakeholders as well as national policymakers and researchers.
Those who missed the first-run Zoom casts have also been able to keep up with research from the Cannabis Center of Excellence and collaborator Dr. Peter Grinspoon in recaps, like this post about “how cannabis consumers and patients use cannabis to reduce the unwanted use of other substances, including prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and recreational street drugs.” (Talking Joints Memo is the media sponsor of the series.)
And now, in their final webinar in the series taking place this Thursday, May 23, CCOE President Dr. Marion McNabb will dive into policy recommendations. They will be joined by Andrew DeAngelo, the co-founder of the iconic Harborside dispensary in Oakland and of the Last Prisoner Project, for a live audience Q&A.
“This series will break down research findings into practical applications for clinical medicine, patients, policy makers, and academics to understand the implications of integrating cannabis as a harm-reduction therapy on real world clinical practice,” McNabb said. “Join us in co-creating and sustaining the dialogue about the integration of cannabis as a harm-reduction alternative.”
