While the mere existence of the ballot question to eliminate adult-use cannabis in Mass is tragic, the prohibitionist campaign nevertheless has a unique disadvantage. After all, those rallying to oppose Question 8 collectively operate hundreds of retail stores statewide, some of which even have billboards overlooking major roadways.

But are dispensaries using their platforms effectively? And importantly, are employees talking to the customers about the issue? These were just some of the questions we’re asking, and since our friends at NECANN are asking them too, we teamed up to throw a “Burn & Learn” event for budtenders at the Summit Lounge in Worcester last week. We also asked our partners from Canna G.E.M.S. to help fill the room and get the blood flowing.

Over the course of three hours, our “No On Question 8” coaches went from table to table, meeting frontline industry workers and going over their anti-repeal pitches with them. People came from all over the state; in the end, dozens left with their anti-repeal spiels sharpened, ready to go back to their dispensaries and pass the knowledge forward.

Thanks to No. 9 Collection, Havn, Paper Crane Cannabis, and Keef for their support as well. Follow TJM, NECANN, and Canna G.E.M.S. for info about additional upcoming events.
