Full Line Review: If Rove Makes It, We’ll Vape It

If you’re looking for alternatives to outdoor combustion in the bitter cold, these rosin and diamond carts will keep you warm

Accounting for more than 16% of all cannabis sales in Massachusetts this past Green Wednesday according to Lit Alerts data, vapes were the fourth most-sold products on the high holiday, registering behind only flower (31%), prerolls (25%), and edibles (17%).

In that same data trove, we learned that Rove saw a significant sales lift from its daily average. And while the brand was already on our radar, that highlight plus high marks from a rosin snob in our circle caught our attention, so we took a closer look, smell, touch, and taste.

Their full-gram Premier carts have one of the most comfortable mouthpieces in the Mass market, circled by a micro thread that’s barely visible to the eye but which makes a difference on the lips. They’re also standard in diameter, so they fit in any third-party oven that you may prefer. With that said, if you explore the handles that Rove offers, you may not need to look much further.

First there is the basic pocket pen battery. Their pushbutton “slim” is shorter than most other standards and lets off a powerful puff despite its diminutive size, while their “designer series” battery is also discreet. In the shape of a 9 Volt that hides most of the cartridge, it’s significantly well thought out, with four power settings, a preheat option, substantial metal casing with a flat bottom for easy standing, and a fat accessible button placed exactly where it belongs.

As for the 510 cartridges themselves … We started with Rove’s Tropicana Cookies, a sativa number and part of their full-spectrum exotics and Premier Ice Rosin line. It’s essentially as close as any vape can get to an actual sticky dab, packing pungent brilliance that won’t go away no matter how deep in your pocket or desk drawer you stash it. A seriously sweet and gassy cross, it had us sniffing the air like a police dog.

The Sour Jack also left an impression, along with an aftertaste just like a sour apple Blow Pop. Similar sentiments for the truly terpy (Grape) Ape and Pink Panther, both of which also have that unmistakable candyland charm without straying from the foundational flower. The only disappointment of the Premier line was their ice rosin Super Boof; usually a favorite strain of ours, the hyper sweetness didn’t seem to translate in the vape.

There is of course also the issue of potency, and in that realm all of the above strike hard. As readers know, we’re big on traditional dabs here, but developments and tech like Rove’s has us reaching for chargeable devices. A few smacks of any of the aforementioned offerings will tilt the highest tolerance. No blow torch or poker necessary.

Finally, on the top shelf, Rove’s Melted Diamonds line is absolutely bonkers. Built for their proprietary Diamond Series handles, the pods are little bathtubs full of gooey magic, which slide into the heater like a gun clip with magnetic attraction. They also double as potpourri sticks, since even just one cloud from this purse-friendly cannon will fill an entire room with the essence of a classic cut.

Currently available in Maui Waui, Blue Dream, Grandaddy Purp, Pineapple Express, Northern Lights, and Skywalker OG, the Diamond inserts are notably true to their iconic strains, making for ideal vessels for new heads seeking a high-end experience, or old snobs who may otherwise be hesitant to smoke things that plug into power outlets.
