This year’s spring cannabis cup season in New England was one to remember, with the NECANN Cup in March being a standout highlight. And while that tradition will continue, the team behind the leading industry convention series born in this region is also putting a fresh spin on the longstanding cup tradition.
Per NECANN, the Cup of Champions is a “METRC-compliant competition exclusively for Licensed Operators in Massachusetts.” But while home growers will sit this one out on the sample side, some of them will hold the gavels, as the “event will feature a judging panel of past cannabis competition winners, including the esteemed Home Growers/Caregivers from NECANN Cup Boston.”
Furthermore, the new cup “will recognize and award the best of the best cannabis and cannabis products, with additional accolades for Best Artwork, Most Innovative Packaging, and more.” All of which will be presented at an award ceremony on Sept. 21 at the 35th annual Boston Freedom Rally (on the 21+ stage).
